To say that my ‘stuff’ dominates the decor of the house would be an understatement. There are a few traces of my husband here and there, but for the most part it is all stuff I have collected. There are two reasons for this; first I love that kinda thing more, and second if there were ‘decor’ items of his we would have wrestlers, transformers and old trophies in every corner of the house. In fact, it is a running game that he hides Macho Man in obscure corners of the house until I find it and then he is relocated to a new hidden location. So, feeling a little guilty about this absence of him, I decided to use all his old childhood trophies as bookends on a bookshelf. However, even he felt that the plastic-metallic in every shade didn’t really work. With a quick spray of white paint the old trophies, that have been sitting in a box for 20 years, have a new home looking like porcelain statues on our shelf. In the future I might like to paint out the figures (or their sports equipment) in bright colours.
